Job summary

St Mary Redcliffe and Temple CE VA School in Bristol is recruiting a temporary Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with SEND, including those with disabilities, autism, hearing and visual impairments, and SEMH needs. The role is 32.5 hours per week, 08:15-15:15, term-time only with 5 INSET days.

The salary is Bristol Grade 6 (£26,847 to £27,274 gross per annum pro rata plus holiday pay). The contract is fixed term initially until 31 August 2027 and includes a 6‑month

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND, including those with hearing/visual impairments and SEMH needs.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undertake training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support students with special educational needs, including behavioural support.
• Assist with intimate care when required, with training provided.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support learning across lessons.
• Work 32.5 hours per week during term time with a half-hour unpaid lunch break.
