Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) to work with pupils across Shepway and surrounding areas. Start dates are immediate with flexible full-time and part-time opportunities. The role focuses on keeping students engaged, supporting emotional regulation, and boosting confidence and resilience.

You’ll work with dedicated school staff to provide compassionate, consistent support, helping learners re-engage with education in a safe environment.

Qualifications

• The right to work in the UK.
• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• DBS cost (£62) reimbursed after 20 days of work.

Responsibilities

• Support a young person to stay engaged during lessons.
• Help pupils manage their emotions using positive behaviour strategies.
• Encourage confidence, independence and self-esteem.
• Work one-to-one with pupils or in small groups.
• Assist teachers in delivering creative and engaging learning activities.
• Be a positive role model inside and outside the classroom.
• Celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.
