Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Secondary PRU Settings in Hartlepool on a full-time basis. • The role is based in an inspirational Secondary PRU setting in Hartlepool.
• The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism.
• The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

• Pay – Between £80-95 per day
• Hours – Full-time
• Contract – Temporary, until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025
• Start Date – January 2025
• Location – Hartlepool

About the Role:

• The role involves supporting pupils who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream school. Pupils display challenging behaviour and some pupils have varied SEN.
• The role involves supporting pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The different types of SEN may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD.
• A key part of the role is building rapport and positive relationships with pupils to help them engage with their learning and make progress both academically and personally.
• Another important aspect is understanding the different needs and learning styles of pupils, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
• Experience working with children in UK schools
• Experience within an SEN School or PRU (desired)
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude
• Right to Work in the UK
• Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to obtain one
• Two professional child-related references from the last two years
