Job Title - SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary
Location - Eastbourne
Hours - 8:30 until 3:30
Start Date - ASAP

Your new company

You will be working across different settings in our partnership schools, supporting pupils with their learning. The role will be based across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils with their learning, including working 1:1 with pupils with SEN. You will be a welcoming team member who is supportive and collaborative, working together to provide the best learning support to enable pupils to fully access learning and accelerate progress, especially where there are specific barriers, including the provision of specialist equipment.

Your new role

You will work through key stages 3 to 4; your role will be to assist the teacher and follow instructions to help re-engage students. You will distribute learning aids and help break down lessons to ensure all students are engaged and focused. You will work both 1:1 and within the classroom, adapting and tailoring lessons to students with different educational needs and backgrounds, especially in the absence of a teacher. You will also help manage pupils' behaviour and run breakout sessions when needed. Additionally, you will liaise with colleagues to receive and deliver instructions and provide feedback.

What you'll need to succeed

It is essential that you have SEN experience, supported by examples and references. A passion for the role and a desire to improve education and student learning are vital. Experience in team teaching and managing behaviour is essential. Your goal will be to help improve students' performance and support them in gaining life skills for societal integration.

What you'll get in return

You will receive support with career development and professional courses. You will have the opportunity to work in a high-achieving school with a strong staff team. Throughout, you will be supported by a specialist education consultant and offered free professional development. If you recommend other education professionals, you can earn £250 in vouchers for each successful referral. *Terms and conditions apply.*
