Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to support students in a Telford secondary school. The role involves 1:1 and small group assistance across lessons, focusing on learners with SEND and diverse needs.

You will collaborate with teachers to run activities, support behavioural goals, and help students build confidence and independence in a welcoming, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
• Experience supporting SEND students is advantageous.
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider support team.
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students across the classroom.
• Support students with additional learning needs, including SEND, autism, ADHD, and communication needs.
• Assist teachers with lesson activities and classroom organisation.
• Help students develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
• Encourage engagement and participation in lessons.
• Support students with emotional, social, and academic development.
• Assist with implementing individual support plans and interventions.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
