Job summary

GUARDIAN SELECTION LIMITED is recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a Plymouth primary school to support pupils with diverse needs in a busy classroom environment. The role runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with pay of £14.24 per hour.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical classroom experience, especially for those considering teaching careers, with hands-on support and collaboration with the SEN team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or within education is desirable.
• Candidates with transferable skills (youth work, coaching, care, mentoring, support work) will also be considered.
• Patient, resilient and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy supporting students.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students with additional needs, including those with EHCPs.
• Providing in-class support across a range of subjects.
• Delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions.
• Encouraging confidence, engagement and positive behaviour for learning.
• Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to support progress.
