Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a Primary School and Nursery in High Wycombe. This permanent position is 35 hours per week, term time only, 39 weeks per year, with an emphasis on supporting pupils across early years to Year 6.

You will plan and deliver interventions, prepare materials, observe progress, liaise with teachers, and help manage behaviour in line with school policies; lunch-time supervision is included.

Qualifications

• Good levels of English and Mathematics essential (Grade 4+ GCSE).
• Preferably prior experience in an educational setting.
• Training in Read Write Inc would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver intervention strategies with record-keeping.
• Prepare teaching materials for use with pupils.
• Liaise with the class teacher on planning and pupil progress.
• Undertake pupil observations and provide feedback.
• Work with children in small groups or individually.
• Work as part of a team and manage behaviour per policy.
• Possess working knowledge of the curriculum.
