Job summary

Burton and South Derbyshire College in Burton upon Trent is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support Additional Needs learners across Early Years, Performing Arts, Hair and Beauty, Apprenticeships and the Andrew Philips Unit. The role is fixed-term until 31 August 2027, working term-time 09:00-16:30 with 36 weeks per year.

You will build positive relationships, work well in a team, and be willing to work toward Level 2 English and Maths.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting individuals with SEND is a bonus but not a requirement.
  • Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.

32.5 hours a week supporting learners in Early Years - £17,694

26 hours a week supporting learners in Performing Arts - £14,155

32.5 hours a week supporting learners in Hair and Beauty - £17,694

19.5 hours a week supporting learners on Apprenticeships - £10,616

33 hours a week supporting learners in our Andrew Philips Unit for learners with high needs - £17,966

Please be aware the roles are fixed term until 31 August 2027 at which point they will be reviewed for the new academic year beginning 1 September 2027.
