Job summary

Manor Farm Infant School in Buckinghamshire is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a named child with Special Educational Needs. You will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo to help the child access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

The role requires GCSE, good literacy and numeracy, and a calm, patient, nurturing approach. Experience with primary-aged children and SEND is desirable; safeguarding is essential.

Manor Farm Infant School is a popular school located in very attractive surroundings.

From September 2026 we are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our fun loving and committed team which will include supporting a pupil with additional learning needs 1:1.

Term time only: Yes

Salary type: Bucks Pay

Salary Details: Range 2

Contract type: Fixed Term until July 2027.

Interviews to be held: Monday 7th September 2026

The Learning Support Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a named child with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), enabling them to access the curriculum, participate fully in school life and make the best possible progress.

Working under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo, the post holder will support the child's educational, emotional, social, communication and physical development while promoting independence, confidence and inclusion.

The role is centred around supporting the child to become as independent as possible rather than creating reliance n adult support.

About you

The successful applicant will have a flexible and enthusiastic attitude and form part of our friendly, supportive team.

You will possess good literacy and numeracy skills as well as a calm, positive and encouraging personality.

You ideally will have experience of working with young children in a school setting.
