Job summary

Barnes Farm Primary School in Chelmsford is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join for 17.5 hours per week. You will support pupils, including those with additional needs, and work within a positive, collaborative team.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, patient and able to use initiative while following guidance.

Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting children in a school setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Able to support the child's medical needs and willing to deal with intimate care needs.
  • Knowledge of strategies to engage pupils with specific needs.
  • Ability to work with patience, calmness and flexibility.
  • Commitment to high achievement for pupils and self.
  • Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Good standard of education: Maths and English GCSE grades A-C or equivalent.
  • Good ICT knowledge.

Hours:17.5, 08:30am - 12pm Monday - Friday

The successful candidate will be committed to supporting all pupils including those with additional needs. In this role, you would be working within a fantastic, supportive and welcoming team. Applicants will need to be enthusiastic, positive and able to work on your own initiative as well as follow direction.

We are looking for a candidate who has:
  • Experience of supporting children in a school setting

  • Good knowledge of ICT
  • Flexibility and a good sense of humour
  • The ability to use their own initiative
  • Willing to undertake training and support individual needs.
