Job summary

The Grange Academy in Kempston, Bedfordshire, is hiring a Learning Support Assistant (Level 3) on a permanent, part-time basis. The role is 31 hours 15 minutes per week during term time, with a September 2026 start date.

The post requires passion for supporting vulnerable pupils, autism/SEND knowledge, and strong teamwork within a multi-academy trust. The school offers a supportive environment, Local Government Pension Scheme membership, development opportunities within BILTT, and an employee

Qualifications

Experience delivering structured activities without supervision (or willingness to learn).
Knowledge of autism, behaviour and SEND needs or readiness to develop such skills.
Ability to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, families and other professionals.
Works well as part of a dedicated team and maintains a positive attitude.
Strong literacy and numeracy skills with clear written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

Support pupils to achieve outcomes in a structured environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to improve pupil confidence, attitudes and resilience.
Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
