Job summary

BLACKBURN CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL in Blackburn is seeking a Learning Support Assistant Level 2 to support students within the SEND department. The role is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 3.00pm, term time only plus one week. The appointment is fixed term for 12 months with a view to permanence and start ASAP.

Job description

Learning Support Assistant - Level 2

Hours - Monday to Friday 8.00am to 3.00pm (32.5 hours per week with a 30 minute unpaid break each day)

Salary - Level 2 - C/Pay Point 3-5

  • Term Time Only - Plus One Week
  • Fixed Term Contract for 12 months, with a view to being made permanent
  • Start Date - ASAP
  • Interviews - Week Commencing 28th September 2026

We are looking to appoint a suitably enthusiastic and / or experienced individual as a Learning Support Assistant Level 2 subject to skills, qualifications and experience to support students within the SEND department. LSAs contribute to the development of a strong, effective school with an emphasis on aspiration and attainment, delivered through strong classroom practice and a fiercely held and demonstrated belief in the role of the school in developing citizens for the future. All staff will demonstrate those philosophies which characterise effective schools - a commitment to education, to the needs and rights of all pupils and to the development of the school's community, with strong, mutually supportive relationships with parents, partner schools and the broader community.
