Job summary

A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Southwark is looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant. Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.

Learning Support Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School, Southwark

Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Until End of Academic Year)
Location: Southwark
Salary: Dependent on Experience

A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Southwark is seeking a committed and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team immediately. This full-time, long-term position will run through to the end of the academic year and offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' education.



Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • Work alongside teaching staff to adapt and deliver lessons to meet individual needs.

  • Offer one-to-one and small group interventions to promote progress in learning and personal development.

  • Implement and track Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO.

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Assist with behaviour management and promote positive behaviour strategies.

  • Monitor student progress and contribute to regular reports and reviews.



Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting.

  • Experience supporting students with SEND.

  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (essential).

  • A professional, proactive, and patient approach to supporting student learning.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
