Teaching Assistant - Secondary School, Southwark

Location: Southwark, London
Start Date: Immediate
Job Type: Full-time, Long-term (until the end of the academic year)
Salary: Dependent on experience

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Southwark is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term role that will run until the end of the current academic year, with the potential for further opportunities.



Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students across a range of subjects and age groups, including those with additional learning needs

  • Working closely with classroom teachers to deliver high-quality, tailored support

  • Encouraging student engagement, independence, and academic progress

  • Assisting with classroom management and general administrative tasks

  • Supporting small group work and one-to-one sessions where needed



Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (in school or another child-based setting)

  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
