Job summary

Principal Education is seeking committed Learning Support Assistants to work in special needs schools and resourced provisions across Tower Hamlets and East London. Roles include 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with EHCPs in autism and complex learning needs, in collaboration with teachers and the SEN team.

These full-time positions offer immediate and October starts, with many roles transitioning to permanent.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK
• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs and behavioural challenges, or strong transferable experience
• Patience, empathy, composure and diligence
• Flexibility and adaptability
• An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new application
• Overseas police clearance if you have lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years
• Based in London or within a commutable distance

Responsibilities

• Support children with EHCPs, 1:1 or in small groups in SEN or mainstream settings
• Work alongside teachers and the SEN team to create a safe, inclusive learning environment
• Provide consistency that leads to positive learning outcomes; long-term, ongoing roles
