Job summary

St Mary's CE VA Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and inclusive practice. You will assist with interventions, supervise classes during short-term absences and help foster a calm, respectful learning environment aligned with the school’s Christian ethos.

Ideal candidates will have experience in a primary setting, strong behaviour management, and a commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

Support learning in partnership with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
Implement curriculum approaches informed by evidence-based learning techniques.
Support pupils with SEND and vulnerable learners to access learning.
Deliver targeted interventions and help pupils retain knowledge and develop metacognitive strategies.
Supervise classes during short-term teacher absence or PPA cover.
Maintain a calm, purposeful classroom environment and safeguard pupils.
