Job summary

Outwood Academy Ormesby in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and supporting students with their academic and welfare needs.

The role includes aiding learners with SEND and EAL, contributing to individual plans, and supporting well-being, assessments, and examinations. A commitment to safeguarding and training will be expected.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school environment or with children and young people.
• Strong communication skills and flexibility to meet business needs.
• Proficiency with standard ICT tools including Microsoft Office; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers by implementing planned learning activities.
• Monitor and record student progress, and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist students with SEND and EAL, helping develop individual plans like One Page Profiles and EHCPs.
• Support student welfare, including social and emotional wellbeing and care tasks as required.
• Supervise educational visits and invigilate examinations as needed.
