Job summary

Waterman Primary School, part of HEARTS Academy Trust, is recruiting an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to help pupils reach their potential. The successful candidate will support class teachers and contribute to an inclusive, high-aspiration environment.

We value patience, teamwork and excellent interpersonal skills, with the aim of developing individual learning and supporting behaviour strategies.

Qualifications

• be educated to NVQ level 2 or 3 in learning/support/early years, NNEB or equivalent qualification/experience
• have a minimum qualification of English and Maths at GCSE level C or above (or equivalent)
• have experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting
• put the needs of our children at the forefront of all you do
• demonstrate patience, calmness and flexibility at all times
• have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to children, parents and other adults
• have a passion for developing individual learning and encouraging pupils to achieve their best
• be a team player
• have some knowledge of strategies to support behaviour
• All staff employed as HLTA will be expected to have or gain a formal HLTA qualification within 18 months of successfully completing their probation period

Job description

• Actual: LSA: £18,651.50 - £19,243.48 HLTA: £19,548.87 - £21,168.35 Full Time Equivalent: LSA: £24,796 - £25,583 HLTA: £25,989 - £28,142 Salary negotiable depending on skills and experience. Hours: 32.5 hours per week (term time plus non-pupil days - 39 working weeks)
