Job summary

Waterman Primary School is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils and assist teachers. The role is 32.5 hours per week during term time plus non-pupil days (39 weeks).

Salary ranges separate for LSA and HLTA, with negotiable progression depending on skills and experience. Prospective applicants should have relevant qualifications, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to helping children reach their potential

Qualifications

• Educated to NVQ level 2 or 3 in learning/support/early years.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting.
• Put the needs of our children at the forefront of all you do.
• Demonstrate patience, calmness and flexibility at all times.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with children, parents and other adults.
• Passion for developing individual learning and encouraging pupils to achieve their best.
• Be a team player.
• Have some knowledge of strategies to support behaviour.
