Job summary

Gateway School in Great Missenden seeks a Learning Support Assistant to help pupils access learning and support teaching staff in a warm, inclusive setting. This permanent, full-time role is term time only and involves assisting with classroom management under direct instruction.

You will contribute to a nurturing environment for children aged 2–11 and work closely with colleagues to ensure every pupil receives the support they need for success.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or a willingness to undertake training.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Effective communication with pupils, staff, parents and the wider public.
• A relevant First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Willingness to undertake wrap-around care duties at the school.
• Good organisational skills and a flexible, positive attitude.
• Energy and a sense of humour.
• Interest or expertise in a curriculum area and ability to run a club.

Responsibilities

• To work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, to ensure access to learning for pupils and to provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
