Job summary

St John Plessington Catholic College is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support teachers in delivering high quality learning. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and/or previous experience working with children, although training will be given for the right person.

The role involves promoting student development in a safe, supportive environment, meeting care needs, and fostering inclusive learning with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or previous experience working with children.
• Training will be provided for the right person.
• Supportive team environment with professional development.

Responsibilities

• Promote students' development in a safe, secure, challenging environment.
• Meet the physical/medical needs of the student per their care plan and encourage independence.
• Develop understanding of the student's needs to help them learn effectively.
• Encourage inclusion within the classroom.
• Display students' work reflecting their achievement.
• Encourage good personal hygiene and assist with self-help skills.
• Facilitate small group interventions as directed by the SENDCO.
