Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for Newcastle/Alnwick areas to support pupils across KS3 to KS5 with tailored learning strategies. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils gain tools to succeed and maintaining progress records.

The role is full-time, temporary with potential to become permanent, paying £15–£16.50 per hour. Start date is September 2026 in Northumberland, with a right-to-work in the UK and DBS via update service (or willingness to apply).

Qualifications

• Experience in a school environment is preferred.
• Ability to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Confidence building relationships with pupils and staff.
• DBS check via update service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils aged 11-19 across KS3- KS5 with tailored learning support.
• Provide 1:1 teaching methods and resources to help pupils succeed.
• Support groups of 3-5 pupils and track progress.
• Maintain records of pupil progress and breakthroughs.
