Job summary

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a specialist education provider in Stockport to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for a full-time, permanent position. You will work in a complex learning needs setting, supporting students with a range of needs and collaborating with a team of therapists, teachers and support staff.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, promoting independence and life skills, and ensuring a calm, well-structured classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in education/child support settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Understanding of autism, learning disabilities, sensory needs, or complex needs
• Calm, proactive, and caring approach
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS if not held

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to learners
• Support communication, personal development and learning activities
• Assist with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
• Promote independence and life skills development
• Assist with personal care where required
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and wider support staff
• Encourage engagement and participation in learning
