Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a large primary school in Grays, Essex, to support pupils across mainstream settings and the Autism Base. This long-term, full-time role starts in September and offers varied exposure to 1:1 and small-group learning.

You will work alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals, helping pupils develop communication, confidence and independence while adapting to each learner's needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
• Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups.
• Interest in Autism Base and SEND.
• Patience and adaptability in diverse settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Work with small groups to reinforce learning and develop skills.
• Work alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals.
• Support pupils within the school's Autism Base where appropriate.
• Help pupils develop communication, confidence, independence and social skills.
• Adapt approaches to meet individual needs and learning styles.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory needs, behaviour or emotional regulation.
