Job summary

Longwood Primary Academy and Nursery in Harlow is opening an ARP for children with ASD. We seek a Learning Support Assistant to oversee day-to-day interventions, work with a specialist teacher, and support pupils within the provision during term time and inset days.

The role includes offsite training and collaborative planning across the trust. Starting January 2027, the post offers opportunities for growth, CPD, and a supportive team.

Learning Support Assistant - Additional Resources Provision (SEND)

Start date: January 2027

Hours: 8:15am - 3:45pm, 32.5 hrs term time + insets (36.4 working weeks)


Longwood Primary Academy is opening an Alternative Resource Provision (ARP) for children with ASD. The children will attend day to day learning in the ARP however they will have opportunities to work in the mainstream classroom where appropriate.
This will provide a unique opportunity for anyone who wants to develop their skills to oversee and deliver the day to day interventions within the provision.

Part of this opportunity will include offsite training at another ARP, alongside tailored planning and support, ahead of the opening at Longwood.
