Job summary

Peter Symonds College seeks Learning Support Assistants to join our team on a permanent basis, with both full-time and part-time posts considered. The role involves supporting students with additional learning needs in class and in the department, including note-taking, 1:1 support, and assisting during examinations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with post-16 learners, be empathetic, able to provide personal care and physical assistance with training, and be committed to safeguarding;

Qualifications

• Experience of working with post-16 students with learning differences or disabilities.
• Strong empathy and commitment to helping students reach their potential.
• Willingness to undertake manual handling and personal care with training.
• DBS check and safeguarding training as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Note-taking for students as required.
• Providing 1:1 support according to individual plans.
• Assisting during examinations including reading, scribing and invigilation.
