Job summary

The Chase is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide key SEN support on a 1:1 basis across Key Stages 3 and 4. This fixed-term contract runs until 31 August 2027, with term-time hours plus 1 additional teaching day.

The role requires a caring, patient approach and strong teamwork with staff to support learners’ progress. The position offers 32.17 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a pro rata salary of £25,185–£25,583 per annum.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of challenges faced by secondary-aged students.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Experience in a school environment or with young people is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in delivering lessons and learning activities in the classroom.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning, particularly in core subjects.
• Assist with classroom organisation and resources.
• Provide support for students with additional needs, including SEND.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement across the school.
