Job summary

Leigh Academy Blackheath is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their established team. This permanent role supports students in 1:1 and small groups, assists teachers with lesson delivery, and helps maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

The position is 31 hours per week, term time plus 1 inset week, Monday to Friday, 8:20am–3:15pm, finishing 2:10pm on Wednesdays. Salary £22,893 per annum (full-time equivalent £29,653).

Responsibilities

• Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery.
• Help manage classroom behaviour to maintain a productive atmosphere.
• Provide general administrative support to the teaching staff.
