Job summary

Future Generation Trust is seeking a Learning Support Assistant with some 1:1 support to assist a child with special educational needs. The post is permanent, 32.5 hours per week term-time only, with training days and potential for reduced hours.

The role is based at St John’s in Essington, serving children aged 2 to 11, and requires patience, dedication, and good interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will join a team of teachers and practitioners to deliver an appropriate curriculum,

Qualifications

• Applications are invited from an enthusiastic, hard-working LSA who has experience of and a passion for supporting children’s learning in school.
• The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and hold the relevant qualifications.
• If appointed, you will work alongside a team of teachers and other practitioners to develop and deliver an appropriate curriculum in line with the children’s needs.
• The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with additional needs and be committed to providing both educational and basic care support.

Responsibilities

• Support a child with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Work alongside a team of teachers to develop and deliver the curriculum.
• Build trusting relationships with the child and support their progression socially and academically.
