Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within schools in Witham and surrounding areas. You will provide 1-to-1 and small-group support, assist with lessons, and help pupils stay engaged and motivated throughout the day.

Ideal candidates have experience with children or young people, are patient and reliable, and can work well in a team while safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Experience in schools, SEND, care, youth work or similar environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-to-1 and small-group support for pupils.

Are you a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity in education?

TeacherActive is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work within schools and specialist education settings across Witham and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with their learning, development and wellbeing.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other education professionals to provide additional support to pupils throughout the school day.

• Providing 1-to-1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with classroom activities and their learning
• Helping pupils remain focused, engaged and motivated
• Supporting children with SEND and additional learning needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom resources
• Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development
• Building positive and professional relationships with pupils
• Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff

The Ideal Candidate

• Have experience working with children or young people
• Have previous experience within a school, SEND, care, youth work or similar environment
• Are patient, caring and resilient
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Are confident supporting pupils with a range of learning needs
• Are reliable, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Have a genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
• Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Previous classroom experience is desirable but not always essential. Candidates with transferable experience from childcare, care, support work, youth work, sports coaching or other child-focused settings are also encouraged to apply.
