Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join schools across Cambridge and the surrounding areas. You will provide 1-to-1 and small-group support, help with classroom activities and assist pupils with their learning and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children or young people, be patient and resilient, and able to work well with teachers, SENCOs and support staff in an inclusive learning environment. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people required.
• Previous school/SEND/care/youth work experience preferred.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach is essential.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills expected.
• Ability to support pupils with varied learning needs.
• Reliable, adaptable and a team player.

Are you a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity in education?

TeacherActive is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work within schools and specialist education settings across Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with their learning, development and wellbeing.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other education professionals to provide additional support to pupils throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1-to-1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with classroom activities and their learning
• Helping pupils remain focused, engaged and motivated
• Supporting children with SEND and additional learning needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom resources
• Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development
• Building positive and professional relationships with pupils
• Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff

The Ideal Candidate

• Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Previous classroom experience is desirable but not always essential. Candidates with transferable experience from childcare, care, support work, youth work, sports coaching or other child-focused settings are also encouraged to apply.
