SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: MacIntyre School, Wingrave | Hours: Term-time only, 38.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year | Experience: No experience needed, full training provided
Ready for a Role That Truly Matters? At MacIntyre School, you will have more than just a job. You will have a purpose. You will support children and young people aged 10 to 19 with learning disabilities and autism, many with complex needs. The role can be challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding. You will see meaningful everyday breakthroughs such as a first conversation, growing independence, or a goal being achieved.
One example is Jude, who joined the school at 11 feeling anxious and reliant on routine. With consistent support, patience, and the right approach from staff, he gradually built confidence and independence. Today, he is able to manage situations that once felt overwhelming, such as visiting the barber on his own, and has developed strong friendships and achieved personal milestones he once found daunting. Stories like Jude’s are at the heart of what we do.
What You Will Be Doing: Support students one to one and in small groups, help manage behaviours with care, structure, and consistency, work alongside teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning, support communication, emotional wellbeing, and life skills, and celebrate every achievement, big or small.
Why Join MacIntyre School? No two days are the same, from sensory activities to community trips, make a genuine impact every single day, full training and ongoing support provided, and build a meaningful career in specialist education.
What We Are Looking For: Patience and resilience, a calm, positive, and consistent approach, and compassion and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
