Job summary

Career Teachers UK is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students with special educational needs in a North Leeds SEN school. The role is full-time, starts immediately, and may lead to permanent employment for the right candidate.

You will work closely with teachers to help students access learning, build confidence, and achieve personal goals, while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.

Learning Support Assistant (SEN School)

North Leeds | Full Time | Immediate Start Fixed Term Until End of Academic Year with Potential for Permanent Employment

We are seeking a confident, engaging, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in North Leeds. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible and continuing for the remainder of the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a genuine difference to their educational journey.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals. You will build positive relationships with students, encourage engagement in lessons, and promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
• Be confident, resilient, and able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people to succeed.
• Be proactive and able to adapt to the individual needs of students.
• Have experience working within an educational, care, or support setting (desirable).
