St Nicholas CofE Primary School in Twyford seeks a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with additional needs from EYFS to ensure they access the national curriculum. You will work within school policies and procedures.

The role focuses on building positive relationships, supporting literacy/numeracy activities and promoting good behaviour. Experience with children and safeguarding commitments are essential.

• Previous experience of working with children, preferably in EYFS.

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to be deployed across EYFS to support our pupils with additional needs. You will be working in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures.

Duties

• Establishing positive relationships with pupils
• Supporting pupils with activities which support literacy and numeracy skills
• Promoting positive behaviour and helping keep pupils on track
• Assisting with displaying and presenting pupils' work
• An awareness of commitment to equality
• Basic understanding of health and safety
• Understanding and implementing child protection procedures

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with children, preferably in EYFS and have a commitment to supporting and encouraging all children to reach their potential., The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced criminal records check.

Employment Details

• Part-time, fixed-term, term time only role
• 17 hours per week Monday - Friday
• Working hours 9-12.30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9-12 Wednesday (to include half an hour Lunchtime Duty Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)
