Learning Support Assistant - Primary School Based

Full-time hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work in our partnership Primary School in the Swansea area. The role will be school hours (8:30am - 3:30pm).

We support our partnership Primary Schools and their pupils to fulfil their potential by giving them unconditional support, providing them with good quality teaching, and empowering them to effectively manage their own behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1:1 with pupils needing additional support
  • General classroom duties helping with arts and crafts
  • Personal care
  • Supervise the children through lunch breaks
  • Provide support and supervision for pupils to encourage their engagement in the learning process and work towards agreed aims and objectives.
  • Work as part of a team contributing towards meeting the academic, social, behavioural, and emotional needs of young people.

Personal Attributes:

  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • An interest in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning
  • An ability to effectively and positively manage challenging behaviour
  • Professional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Good general standard of education (GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT proficiency
