Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking individuals interested in a career as a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA). Previous experience supporting children or adults with additional needs is preferred but not essential; a strong desire to start is also considered.

We collaborate with a large organization providing education support to individuals with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language challenges, and social, emotional & mental health needs.

Teaching assistants will support students aged 5-11 years old, either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, throughout their academic day.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing tailored support to children with SEMH and SEN
• Creating a safe, engaging environment for learning and fun
• Offering academic support in 1:1 or small group settings
• Assisting the teaching staff

Ideal candidate profile:

• Teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not mandatory
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, either voluntarily or professionally
• Experience working with children in youth settings
• Location: Weston-Super-Mare
• Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
• Contract: Temporary, with potential for permanent roles
• Hours: Term-time, Monday to Friday
• Start date: ASAP
