Job summary

An established industry player is seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Blackburn. Year 1 Teaching Assistant - Blackburn

Prospero Teaching is working closely with a small, friendly primary school in Blackburn to recruit an enthusiastic and confident Year 1 Teaching Assistant to start in September for the full academic year.

Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting groups with core learning activities including Reading, Writing, Phonics, and Maths
  2. Making assessments and recording data
  3. Delivering targeted interventions for groups and individuals, including children with SEN
  4. Contributing effectively to behaviour management alongside the class teacher
  5. Preparing resources
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in EYFS or KS1 with a good understanding of the KS1 curriculum
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build excellent relationships with children
  • Genuine desire to impact children's progress and development

This is a full-time role with a daily pay rate of GBP 95 – GBP 105, depending on experience.

Essential Requirements:
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Relevant qualification such as a Childhood Studies degree, TA qualification, Level 2 or Level 3
  • Professional references covering the last two full years
  • Teaching Assistant experience in a UK primary school
