Academics is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Gravesend, Kent. This role offers a first-step opportunity for graduates to support pupils with special educational needs, with exposure to therapy teams and on-site therapy resources.

Key duties include classroom support, pastoral care, and delivering targeted interventions 1:1 or in small groups. Enhanced DBS may be required depending on the assignment and location.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree or experience working with children or young people.
  • Knowledge, keen interest or understanding of the range of different types of learning difficulties, disabilities and behaviours.

We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work at a specialist school.

This Learning Support Assistant role is a perfect opportunity for a graduate looking to gain their first experience working with young people with special educational needs, as well as someone looking for the next step in their career to specialise in working with pupils, or aspring Therapists.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various therapy teams including Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, if this is a career path you are interested in exploring. This school has their own Therapy Department on site, staffed by qualified therapists and therapy assistants. This is an exciting chance to expand your knowledge, skillset, and gain relevant practical experience.

Entry requirements for a Learning Support Assistant:
  • Undergraduate Degree or experience working with children or young people

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
