Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEN or additional needs.
• Good standard of general education with Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to build positive relationships with learners and stakeholders.
• Team player with a proactive and flexible approach.
• Comfortable supporting learners with personal care and mobility.
• Committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning and accessibility support for learners with SEN.
• Support students to access learning programmes and college services.
• Assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing where required.
• Help learners develop independence, study skills and self-advocacy.
• Support implementation and review of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes.
• Work with teaching staff, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Ensure assistive technology and equipment are available and operational.
• Act as a College First Aider (training provided).

Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

Full-time (35 hours per week) | Term Time Only
Salary: £26,000 - £27,000 pro rata (term time only) + Training & Development + First Aid Training
Location: Northampton

Working closely with curriculum staff and the Learning Support team, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, remove barriers to learning, and help create an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.
This role would suit someone with experience supporting learners with SEN or additional needs, excellent communication skills, and a caring, patient approach. Applications are welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar sectors.

The Role:
