Job summary

Randstad Education in Dorking is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students with diverse needs in a SEN setting. You will work 1:1 and in groups under the teacher’s guidance, contributing to an engaging, practical curriculum.

This role offers term-time, permanent opportunities with on-site parking and funded training to advance qualifications, helping you develop your career while supporting vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with diverse needs.
• Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• GCSE Maths and English are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide teaching assistance as per weekly/daily/seasonal planning.
• Work 1:1 with students.
• Provide group and/or individual activities planned by the teacher.
• Support learners' well-being within the school structure.
• Monitor and evaluate students' learning under the teacher's guidance.
• Assist teachers with management strategies to create a purposeful learning environment.
• Support all learners in planned structured work across curriculum areas.

Permanent Role /Term time only

Monday to Friday 8:45am -4.45pm

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing teaching assistance defined according to weekly/daily/seasonal planning


• Working 1:1 with students


• Providing group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher


• Working individually with learners/students to develop work.


• Supporting the general well being of learners within the structure of the school


• Monitoring and evaluating students learning under the guidance of the teacher


• Assisting teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place


• Supporting all learners in their planned structured work in all curriculum areas

Key skills and experience needed:

• The ability to work with learners that have various learning difficulties


• Confidence to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects


• The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team


• Experience working in SEND settings is desirable but not essential


• Eligibility to work in the UK


• GSCE Maths and English
