Job summary

REESON Education is recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to support post-16 learners with SEND in Gosport, Hampshire. The role involves one-to-one and small-group support to help students access lessons and develop independence.

Salary is £80-£100 per day and starts ASAP following safeguarding checks. You should have experience as a Learning Support Assistant or transferable experience with young people, plus safeguarding awareness and an enhanced DBS or willingness to apply.

• Able to build respectful relationships and encourage learners to make choices for themselves.
• Post-16 or specialist provision experience is advantageous with clear communication and teamwork.

Your Role as a Learning Support Assistant

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping post-16 learners access lessons, follow routines and work towards individual goals.

• Adapt instructions and resources under tutor guidance to make learning accessible.
• Reinforce communication, practical skills and independence through agreed activities.
• Support engagement and emotional regulation using individual support plans.
• Share observations with tutors and support staff to review progress and next steps.
