Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Exeter. You will work to support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and across the classroom, helping them reach their full potential.

The successful LSA will assist the class teacher, provide targeted interventions, and promote engagement, independence and positive behaviour within a safe, inclusive learning environment. DBS checks and references may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people is advantageous but not essential.
• Patience, empathy and adaptability are essential traits.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are important.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing is required.

Responsibilities

TeacherActive is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Learning Support Assistant to work within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Exeter. You will support pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups and across the classroom.

The successful LSA will:

• Support the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities

• Help pupils remain engaged and focused
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience supporting children or young people, although this is not essential
• Be patient, empathetic and adaptable
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
• Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
