Job summary

TeacherActive Limited. are seeking Learning Support Assistants to support students across mainstream provision in a Bath-based secondary school. You will primarily work 1:1 and in small groups to help students access the curriculum and grow confidence.

We welcome experienced LSAs as well as graduates or those with transferable experience who want to start a career in SEND support, with opportunities for flexible, long-term or potential permanent roles.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in SEND settings preferred.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH, EHCPs welcome.
• Open to graduates, university students and those with transferable experience aiming to work with young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to individual students within mainstream classes.
• Support small groups with learning and classroom activities.
• Help students stay engaged, organised and confident in lessons.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual needs and abilities.
• Work alongside teachers and the SEND/pastoral team.
• Encourage independence and reduce reliance on ongoing support.
• Support students' social, emotional and academic development.

Do you have experience working with children or young people with SEND?

Do you have experience supporting children or young people on a 1:1 basis or in small groups?

Do you have experience supporting any of the following: Autism/ASC, ADHD, SEMH, challenging behaviour or pupils with EHCPs?

TeacherActive is working closely with an inclusive secondary school in Bath that is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to support students across its mainstream provision.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with young people and wants to make a genuine difference to their experience in school.

You will primarily work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups within mainstream lessons, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence and become increasingly independent in their learning.

We are interested in hearing from experienced LSAs and Teaching Assistants, but we would also love to speak to graduates, university students and people with transferable experience who are looking to develop a career supporting young people.

• Providing 1:1 support to individual students within mainstream classes

• Have previous school/SEND experience or strong transferable experience working with children or young people

Relevant experience with SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH, EAL or students with EHCPs would be particularly welcome, although this is not essential for every position.
