Job summary

Danetree Primary School in Epsom is seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our Ofsted-rated Outstanding school on a maternity cover basis. You will support pupils with learning and welfare needs and contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom.

You should be able to build positive relationships with children, stay calm under pressure, and communicate clearly with parents. The role offers strong CPD opportunities within the GLF Schools network and a collaborative, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children in a primary setting.
• Ability to understand the educational, welfare and social needs of children.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with young children.
• Capable of staying calm and objective when behaviours are challenging.
• Enthusiastic, team-spirited and able to communicate clearly with parents.
• Flexible approach to classroom work.

Responsibilities

• Support children with learning activities and welfare needs under supervision.
• Contribute to a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist teaching staff with planning and delivery of lessons where required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and their families.
