Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to support students with additional learning needs in Northamptonshire colleges. These temporary, long-term roles run until the end of the academic year with potential for further opportunities.

Roles involve 1:1 and small group support, enabling learners to overcome barriers and build confidence. You will collaborate with teaching staff to implement learning plans, monitor progress and support personal development.

Qualifications

• Level 2 minimum in English and Maths.
• Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs.
• Experience with ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, BSL.
• Calm, patient and caring personality.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Note-taking ability.
• Understanding safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
• Help remove barriers to learning and promote confidence and independence.
• Support students’ academic progress and personal development.
• Work closely with teaching staff to implement learning plans and schemes of learning.

Salary Range: £14.24 - £17 per hour

We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join on a long-term temporary basis until the end of the academic year, with potential for further opportunities.

In this role, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs
• Help remove barriers to learning and promote confidence and independence
• Support students’ academic progress and personal development
• Work closely with teaching staff to implement learning plans and schemes of learning
• Play a key role in helping learners achieve their goals and succeed in college

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Level 2 minimum in English and Maths
• Recent and demonstrable experience of supporting people with additional learning needs.
• Experience working with ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, BSL
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
• Ability to operate with empathy and the ability to motivate others
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Able to work independently using own initiative
• Able to note take for students
• A clear understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
