Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Crosby from September 2026. You will support pupils with SEND across the primary age range, working with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored assistance and help pupils access learning and reach targets.

The role runs full-time from September 2026 with potential extension for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or moderate learning difficulties).
• Confidence in supporting children with additional needs, including challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN to access learning and achieve targets.
• Work closely with class teacher and SENCO.
• Collaborate with parents and other professionals to plan support.

Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

Contract: Full-Time

Duration: September 2026 - October Half Term (with the potential to be extended for the right candidate)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Crosby from September 2026.

This is a full-time role supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the primary age range. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual targets. The position is initially until October Half Term, with the opportunity to continue beyond this for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will:

• Have recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
• Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or moderate learning difficulties.
• Be confident supporting children with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behaviours.
• Be patient, resilient, and nurturing, with a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills, working effectively alongside teachers, the SENCO, parents, and other professionals.
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
