Job summary

Maritime Academy is expanding its team of Learning Support Assistants as we welcome our next cohort of students this September. The successful candidates will work as directed by the SENCO with individual students and groups, supporting progress monitoring and development.

This role is suitable for building experience with SEND pupils, requiring a patient, caring approach and a calm, adaptable attitude to changing circumstances. The position is initially offered on a fixed-term basis.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learning in the classroom (primary or secondary).
• Promote high standards of behaviour and conduct.
• Great communication and organisational skills.
• Support colleagues in all aspects of learning, personal development and emotional literacy.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

The successful candidates will work as directed by the SENCO with individual students and groups of students, supporting with the monitoring of progress for individuals. Due to the nature of the role a patient, caring and compassionate approach is needed.

Our Learning Support Assistant will:
