Job summary

Chalfont St Peter Church of England Academy is seeking a committed individual to work with the class teacher and SENDCo to help pupils access learning, build confidence and become more independent.

The role is within a warm, inclusive school community that champions every learner. Strong communication and a compassionate approach are essential, with GCSEs in English and Maths preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong communication is essential and experience or understanding of supporting pupils with SEND is preferable.
• Compassion, patience and enthusiasm for supporting children's learning are important.
• GCSEs in English and Maths are required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support individual pupils to access learning and grow in independence.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to monitor progress and adapt activities.
• Communicate clearly with pupils, colleagues and families to support a positive learning environment.

• Has experience of working with children in a school setting
• Is compassionate, patient and enthusiastic about supporting children's learning
• Has an interest in working with pupils with special educational needs
• Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Communicates clearly and confidently
