Job summary

City College Peterborough is seeking a dynamic Learning Support Assistant to help adults with learning disabilities unlock their potential within an inclusive learning setting.

You will help deliver person-centred support, adapt activities to individual needs, and foster confidence and independence across a 30‑week academic year, with daytime sessions Tuesday to Friday across a range of programmes.

Job description

Part of our Tailored Learning offer is our Supported Adult Learning (SAL) offer which includes a variety of courses for adults with learning disabilities. Through these programmes, learners are supported to develop their knowledge, skills, confidence, and independence in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will work within this provision.

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who is passionate about helping adults with learning disabilities unlock their full potential.

You will play an important role in creating an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment that allows learners to thrive. By building strong relationships with learners and working closely with tutors, you will help deliver person-centred support, adapt learning activities to meet individual needs, and encourage learners to develop their skills, confidence, and independence.

Our Supported Adult Learning provision runs over a 30-week academic year, with courses taking place during the daytime between Tuesday and Friday. We are currently seeking support across a range of programmes, including Wardrobe Wonders, Click IT, Click IT: Level Up, Independence Unlocked, and Community Champions (courses subject to change).

Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) or sewing would be advantageous, but is not essential.
