Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Chatham, Medway area, supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 and helping with their learning, development and wellbeing while building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

The successful candidate will have prior experience as a Learning Support/Teaching Assistant in a school, be patient, nurturing and capable of working confidently as part of a school team, with good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Learning Support/Teaching Assistant in a school.
• Experience supporting pupils across KS1/KS2.
• Patient, nurturing and supportive approach.
• Ability to work confidently as part of a school team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant qualifications are preferred.
• Driving is preferred due to location/accessibility of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning and wellbeing in KS1/KS2.
• Assist teaching staff with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Promote positive relationships between pupils and staff.
• Support with safeguarding and DBS requirements as applicable.

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Location: Chatham, Medway
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Contract: Full-time
Year Groups: KS1 & KS2

We are currently looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Chatham, Medway area, supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with their learning, development and wellbeing, and who can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant within a school setting

• Experience supporting children across KS1 and/or KS2

• A patient, nurturing and supportive approach

• The ability to work confidently as part of a school team

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Relevant qualifications are preferred

• Driving is preferred due to the location/accessibility of the role

Essential Safeguarding Requirements:

• A fully enhanced DBS is required

• Candidates should either be registered on the DBS Update Service or be willing to apply for a new enhanced DBS

• Suitable references and safeguarding checks will be required

Working Hours

8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Full standard school day, term time.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
